Belly Banter

You've got our ear, we've got the dish! This is where you'll get the scoop on the latest happenings at ePregnancy, plus any news and cool products we happen across -- and there may be a stray opinion or two thrown in for good measure.

Bundle Up! Our Five Fave Blankets for Your Babe

With flurries in the air, talk here in the office has turned from favorite sunscreens for baby to cozier, warmer things – specifically, baby blankets! I did an informal poll of all the new moms and here are the blankets they picked as their personal faves (in no certain order):

Vegan mama Melissa is currently smitten with her daughter Carmen's Soy Vey blanket, made by BabySoy. It's 50% soybean, 50% cotton and 100% good to the environment! The double layering means it's not only reversible, but has just enough heft to protect Carmen on some of our chillier days.

Although practical choices abound, Traci chose this luxe silk charmeuse coverlet for her daughter Micah. Made by Kookoon, it's a favorite of celebs all over the world. And now, it's a favorite here at ePregnancy headquarters! (I nearly stole Micah's last week when she came in with it -- it is the ultimate in softness!)

Cashmere and babies don't mix. Or do they? In the case of these bubble blankies by Angel Cashmere, they absolutely do! Made of 100% cashmere, these minkies are actually two cashmere blankets hand-stitched together, creating one luxurious cascade of cozy.

This cuddly cloud comes to us from Little Giraffe and was actually picked by Traci as her second favorite (and more reasonably priced) blanket for Micah. It's Micah's "every day" blanket, if you will. Bordered in a silky satin, the lush faux fur fabric provides not only comfort, but warmth. (It's one of Suri's faves, too!)

Rachel, mom to newborn Jack, has a slightly different take on her favorite blanket: she chose a swaddling blanket -- from Barney's no less! She tried the celeb fave, by Aden + Anais, but says she actually prefers this one. "The shape of my Bonkie makes swaddling much easier from my end -- especially when he's thrashing about!" The uber-soft chenille lining keeps his toes toasty and soothes him right into dreamland.

Do you have a blankie picked out for your bump? Leave a comment for me so I can check it out!

I like blankets that cost about 3 to 5 dollars, lmao.

Now that I'm finally pregnant, I can't help but stroll by all the baby stuff at Target and Walmart and dream about the next 5 months and when I can finally start to buy all the goodies. But I already know what blankie I'm buying, because I actually found it while shopping for a gf's baby shower a few months ago. It is from the George brand at Walmart, and it is the most supersoft blankie I've ever felt. It was only like $12 and it is adorable.
