We made it to the beach in Florida. The flight went amazingly well. We got lucky with an extra seat in our row, much easier to let the boys stretch out a little. And, August was thrilled to be sitting next to the window with Grandma and Grandpa.
Boo was so tired that he fell asleep 15 minutes into the flight and slept for over 2 hours. We couldn’t have asked for a better travel day!
The kids were so excited to see the ocean, beach and grassy area to run. Sitting still is not normal for them and they were ready to run around and burn off energy as soon as we landed.
The pool is such a great place to acclimate and have some fun. AJ, wearing his life vest, hopped into the pool. A year ago, he wouldn’t let go of us when in the pool. Swim lessons and age have made such a tremendous difference for him. Boo, less eager to swim, was quick to jump into his inflatable race car and float.
The safety vests might be the best purchases made for this trip. Available online or in stores, the vests are boating approved and so easy that AJ can put it on himself. AJ swims confidently and Boo, at 20 months, can float safely on his back with us holding his hands.
Boo is quite a bit more excited about his inflatable car with sun shade. The shade helps Boo enjoy his ride without the sun in his eyes and provides some sun protection.
Sun protection for kids is imperative. Ours even wear SPF 50 shirts at the beach and pool. They are available in short or long sleeve and the boys consider them a part of their swim suit. Between the shirt and shorts, there is less surface area to sunscreen which makes wrestling the little Gators go a little more quickly.
Our trip has been perfect, full of fun, swimming and sand.
