AFter a "routine" appt on Thursday, I was told that my baby has a heart problem. She has a heart block also being referred to as a 2 to 1 heart block. I have been moved to a high risk fetal heart specialist OB from here on out and I will be seeing a pediatric cardiologist for the remainder of this pregnancy.
I don't know a lot of info yet, but we were basically told that the baby's heart structure looks normal, but there is something in the "wiring" of the heart that is telling it to beat at half what it should. On Thursday, her heart rate was 70 BPM, which is typical with this type of condition.
They are going to try and treat it with medicine and we have been told that she may need a pace maker when she is born.
I will be finding out what the complete plan of action is tomorrow. We had a lot of blood work done on Thursday to see if I have any type of antibodies, that may be causing this (ie. Lupus).
Just seeing if anyone has any experience with this?
