What is the Formula Requirement for an 11 Month-Old?

How much formula should an 11 month-old be taking in?

Owen takes Enfamil w/ Lipil ever since he was weaned from breastfeeding around 7 months.

The last couple days or so he hasn't even wanted his formula. Usually he takes it in a bottle but he has been taking it in a sippy cup at dinnertime. Is this normal? He hasn't wanted it in a bottle or sippy cup. This morning he ate is breakfast: cereal and bananas but refused the formula.

What do you all think about this?

maybe start giving him like a third of cows mixed in with it? That's what we finally did with Kaleb when he was 11 months old because he just started refusing formula altogether and is also the way we weaned him off his bottle b/c he would only get the "good stuff" (reg. milk) in a sippy cup so he was happy.

My 10-1/2 month old daughter is doing the same thing. According to my baby books, around 9-12 months babies may start to refuse their bottles b/c they prefer to explore, play, and climb on things. Here's what we do--leave the bottle on the floor and when my daughter wants it, she crawls over to it and takes it. She's become quite the cluster feeder now. She'll sip it for about 15 seconds, drop it and continue playing, then return to it again later. Eventually, she finishes it, but usually not in 1 sitting. It's just their way of asserting their independence. Now is the perfect time to start transitioning to a sippy cup anyways--less messy too. Good luck!

One of the magazines American Baby I think had a feeding guide and I believe it said 6-8 ounces a day but it doesn't sound like a crisis to me he's old enough to be taking in most of his food from other sources now and formula tastes really bland compared to everthing else he's eating now so I wouldn't worry. Have you talked to your pedi. about it?
