    Failed

So I know that I am not in the third trimester yet but most of my due date buddies are over here so I thought that I would post here. Well I had my 1 hour Glucose test done on Saturday and the doctors office called today to tell me that I failed and I have to complete the 3 hour test now. So next Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. I go for he three hour, this is so much fun Confused. I was perfect with my first pregnancy no problems at all. I hope I pass!

I failed the one hour test too and had to do the "three hour" test(which I passed, thank goodness!!!). The whole ordeal lasts more than three hours, sorry to say. In my case they drew blood when I first got there to get a baseline reading, then waited for that to come back from the lab, then I drank the nasty stuff (it's worse than the the stuff you drink for the one hour test)Tongue Tied  An hour later you get poked again, and again, an hour later, and yet again an hour later. So it's really four blood draws and about four hours. My advice... bring a good book(or magazine)!! At my hospital they make you stay in the waiting room the whole time.  Good Luck!

    Re: Failed

Don't feel bad .... I failed mine too. I go tomorrow for my 3 hour. ( I also failed the 1 hour with my last preg but passed the 3 hr... hope the same holds true tomorrow!) Then on top of that I hav eto have another ultrasound b/c they think I have placenta previa, which I had a t 12 wks with my last preg but it resolved... now it shows up at 28 wks with this one. I told my doc "No more bad news.... I have had enough for 1 day" ... one good note, I have only gained 3 pounds total ! I walk every day and I am not fat but I am on the "healthy " side to start with, so no concerns there ! Good luck on your test!

My personal advice, make sure you don't have to take DD with you... It was a LITERAL nightmare being in the waiting room with my 16 month old daughter for the 1-hour. I can't imagine three hours of making a toddler stay in one spot (unless you give her a triple dose of cough medicine... j/k... kinda..).

Oh no DD will be going to daycare! After the test I have a appointment with the doctors and at this visit we will find out when Jake will be making his appereance, since he is going to be a scheduled c-section.

BTW: My DD was not a scheduled c-section, after 15 hours of labor with no progression they took her c-section. Since this one is a planned c-section does anyone know what they will do when I get to the hospital?

    Re: Failed

For me.. (which, who knows if it's "the norm"), I got there, they got all my vitals, got me dressed up in a lovely gown, hooked me up to IVs, catheterized me (some are lucky enough to have this done while under anesthesia, while in the OR, so they don't feel it), and gave DH his cute little OR outfit. From the time I got to the check-in room, to the OR was about an hour. It can take longer, if someone has an emergency section just ahead of you... Mine wasn't entirely scheduled, because I was going in for an induction, but the U/S I had a few hours before suggested DD might be too big. Long story short... it may as well have been one.
