    Couvade Syndrome?

That was an interesting article. I felt really sorry for my sister.

I will start by saying that I was in high school and still living at home, so we were together all the time. In the first trimester when I had an upset stomach she would be the one in the bathroom emptying her stomach. Poor thing, she is actually my younger sister and was only twelve at the time. She also got the heartburn right along with me in the third trimester. The other symptom she had was actually pretty funny. Where I didn't crave anything odd, just refried beans all the time, she craved and ate wierd things. One of her favorites was a hot dog (which previously she hated) on the bun with nacho cheese and m&m's. Anyways, that is what I can remember off the top of my head.

I actually found it rather nice to have someone to share things with, after I realized that it really wasn't a cry for attention.

scaredy, that is so interesting! i really think it must have to do with hormones -- you know how they say that women who spend a lot of time together tend to get their periods at the same time, etc -- it must be the same sort of thing where couvade is concerned!

(did she put the m&ms ON the hotdog!??!?!)

Um... Yes she put the m&m's on the hotdog, really gross to watch but she loved it. The other thing I remembered today after I was talking to her about it, she felt part of my labor with me. She was in physical pain with me when I finally started to feel my labor. I agree with the hormones, my sister and I do coordinate our periods too. That was how she knew I was pregnant this time is she missed her period and she knew it wasn't her.

I know that it sounds totally crazy but she had been regular for a full year before I got pregnant and then when she finally had a period it was when she was away from me for more than a week and out camping with other girls.
