so when is ok to give them peanutbutter??? i thought it was 2yrs but i've seen several menu ideas where they sudjest giving it at 1?? given her choice chloe would live on american cheese, hotdogs and grapes...

I give Jack pb and he's 15 monthes.  The first time I would give a small amount and watch so if he is allergic you know??  I still don't use a lot when he gets it, but he enjoys his pb and j sandwiches.

yea i think i will try that...peanutbutter is very popular around here and chloe will tug on a pant let and beg her brother and sisters for 'num-nums' ans she gets so mad when they tell her no..

I think unless you have a family history of allegies to PB or severe food allergies, it's fine to try pb at 12 months.

I gave my son about a teaspoon at almost 2 1/2 and within minutes he got a rash from his chest up.  Needless to say, I haven't given it to him since!  But it is odd.....he's never had any reactions ever to anything else, and he does eat granola bars that list peanuts in the ingredients and there is no reaction. 

 12months is fine.. try a dab in their mouth. if nothing happens, try more.
