    Share your success story

This part of the board hasn't had a new post since the upgrade.  I thought I would through something out there.  All of you ladies who got your BFP after a long TTC road, please tell us how you did it.  Give us hope!

This is an indirect success story, but you're right, we need a positive new post here!

A blogger I know who had been ttc for years with lots of bad luck just found out that she's pregnant! she's just 4 weeks along, so send her sticky dust!

Mine is an old story (in case you can't tell by my sig :) ), but it took us five years to have our first. We started ttcing when we got married in 1997. We got pg 3 months after our wedding, but lost the baby at 13 wks. We thought it would be easy to get pg again since it had happened so fast, but years went by and nothing happened. We finally went to a fertility specialist. They decided to go straight to IUI. We started our first month of IUI and at the first u/s to check on my eggs, they discovered that I had a tumor the size of a baseball in one of my ovaries. I had to stop the fertility treatments to go through surgery to have it removed. They told me to come back in 6 months to try again, but not to hold my breath - they said I may not ever be able to have children. We went back in 6 months and they did an u/s to see if I had any other tumors. They found a 16 wk old fetus instead :) I just had my fourth baby in five years and have not had to use fertility treatments to conceive any of them :)

    Re: Share your success story

I spent what I will now consider the longest year of my life TTC after a M/C at 8 weeks with my first pregnancy.  During that year I had intermitent cycles and kept thinking that I had to be preggers again, POS, and see the BFN.  After a year of this pain I started Clomid.  During my first cycle on Clomid my OB monitored the activity in my ovaries through ultrasound to see if it was working.  After a day 15 U/S and a day 21 U/S they gave me a Privasee (sp?) shot to induce ovulation.  Nine months later I gave birth to my little guy.  Doing the ultrasounds with the Clomid allowed us to take all the timing guesswork out of the equation.  If we hadn't had the ultrasounds we'd probably still be TTC cause I would have BD'd with DH at the wrong time (around day 15).

I was totally prepared to begin the process again this summer because I just assumed we'd need fertility treatments again.  However, I had a wonderful unexpected surprise around Mother's day.

Good luck to everyone, I'm wishing for all of you to have BFP's really soon!! Smile
