    Shooting pain

Hey y'all...don't think I'm weird or anything because I'm not pregnant and my youngest is 3 y/o but I've always wondered about this....

After my daughter was born I tried breastfeeding.  It worked great while we were in the hospital but I noticed after we got home that when I would go to feed her on my right breast, the second she latched on a pain would shoot down my arm.  After about 2 seconds though it would subside but I got to where I would avoid feeding her from that breast at all because of it.  My supply wasn't adequate for her and my husband was not very encouraging about the breastfeeding (he was jealous!!!) so I gave up after 3 weeks and just switched her to formula.  Those three weeks were amazing, though.  Our next child I want to be completely prepared to breastfeed (and pump so Daddy doesn't feel left out) but I want to avoid the shooting pains.  Anyone have this before? Hmm

Wow!  No, fortunately I never had that issue.  Maybe you could talk to a lactation consultant at the hospital.
