    Happy for someone's elses pregnancy?

How did/would you react to the news of a siblings pregnancy?  DH and I have lost two babies so far and now, last night I find out that my little sister, 19 and unmarried, lives at home, PT job, etc just found out she's pregnant.  Due to her situation I'm not in a position where I have to be happy and excited - she sat at my kitchen table crying and asking what should she do.  I don't know how to or if I can handle this.  What should she do?  She asked me that.  I asked her what options she was considering and she said either have the baby or adoption.  (abortion is not an option)  And I seriously doubt, regardless of what she wants, that adoption is an option either.  My mom isn't going to give a grandchild away.  How am I supposed to make it through the next 9 months with my baby sister expecting a baby?  What do I do when it's time for her baby shower?  I'm going to be an aunt!  I just skipped Thanksgiving b/c there were three new baby boys born in our families this past year and I didn't want to be around them!

I'm sorry you and dh are faced with this situation.

If your sister was in your home crying about it, I assume you are close and she knows what you have been through.  Hopefully, she is mature enough to realize she is putting you in such an emotionally difficult situation.

I think it's ok for you to be mad and hurt.  It's circumstances like this just don't make any sense.  How can a couple that want babies so badly be denied, and then a young unprepared person is given a gift they don't even want?  But ultimately, she is your sister and you will love that little baby, and you'll be an awsome aunt!

Try to be the better person.

    :)
