    Baby Blankets...

I just blogged the five favorite baby blankets here at the office (as determined by my *completely* official poll, I assure you Wink).

    Take a look!

I'm curious to know which blankets you guys like -- leave a comment here or on the blog!

Does ANYONE actually buy a $60, $80, or $298 blanket???  The only one on there I would even consider is the Soy Vey one at $20, but even that seems a bit steep for a blanket!

What is this, celebrity epreg? lmao I don't think many women on this site would pay that much for a blanket...well, not one that is just gonna be pooped on or spit-up on. The epreg staff must get paid REALLY good, lol.

I have the Little Giraffe blanket and A LOT of other people I know have it too.   It is totally the softest blanket I have ever felt.  I got it as a gift - isn't that what showers are for?

The Little Giraffe one was the only one I didn't find a price for, so I couldn't tell you if I would buy it or not. Sure gifts are what showers are for, but I've never known anyone to go buy someone an overpriced blanket for the shower.  I guess ePreg is aiming towards the very select population that brings in $500+K /year

Ok, I just saw that the Little Giraffe one was $58. Does no one see that as a waste of money?  I got some very nice blankets from Carter's that I'm sure didn't cost half that much!

I guess my friends and I are in this "very select population."  I only wish I had the bank account to show for it.

Honestly, remember that my hubby and I were married for 7 years before we started TTC and we both had careers.   I was over 30 when my first child was born.  I registered for a few 'pricey' items and got them (both my bassinet and stroller, for instance was totally over the top and I didn't need one that pricey or with that many features).  But I also have splurged - there's always Ebay for some of these items.

It know this may sound weird, but I think there are two factors in these items - age and geography.   I think that those of us who had our kids older tend to splurge on these things.   And geography definitely is a factor - when Alex was born in NJ, everyone seemed to have these top of the line items.  But not so much here in south central PA.

And now... should we move this to the debate forum?   Wink

LMAO You can move it if you want, I'm really not heated over this, just looked at the link, saw the cute blankets but was blown away at the prices. I just think they're over the top. I wouldn't want to spend that kind of money on something that 1)gets pooped on 2)gets spit up on 3) only gets used for a very small amount of time.

Tell me, are any of the blankets on your bed $300? I don't even think the comforter that I have was even $50, so if I'm not spending that kind of money on myself, I sure am not spending that kind of money on a baby. KWIM?

Um... my bed....Ok.... you don't want to know!   Zip it!

We actually drag the Little Giraffe blanket with us everywhere we go.  It's his "lovie."    My only reservation is that if we lose it, I am not sure I want to buy another.  So you do have me there.

    Stick out tongue

But I must admit I have to revoke my earlier statement about my bed. I completely forgot about the 1200 tc sheet sets (yes, two of them) that we bought last summer.Embarrassed I forgot about them because we haven't used them yet. AND the only reason I bought them was because there were at less than 50% the original price on overstock.com  Party!!!

However the comforter price still stands. It's a lovely comforter and I think I got it in one of those bed in a bag type deals for about $50-60 which included the bed skirt, and 2 pillow shams. LOL

I bought my comforter on Overstock, too! But I still think it's more fun to look at luxurious baby blankets than the ones we all see at Target every day!

    Re: Baby Blankets...

I definitely spend more on my kids rooms than my own.  We have a king bed so anything that fits it is expensive.  But I care more about what their rooms look like.  Everyone wants to see the nursery.  No one cares about my room!
