    new here..spotting...prometrium?

My husband and I decided to start ttc our 3rd.  We started trying in December.  My periods have been really irregular since our last baby-she's almost 18 months now.  Back in September I had a period that lasted the regular 7 days but on day8 I was still spotting a little bit.  No big deal I thought but it continued for a total of 6 weeks.  It was just spotting the rest of the time.  This time I started in the beginning of December and 26 out of the last 28 days I have been spotting-no heavier bleeding this whole time.  Called my gyno after 1 1/2-2 weeks and he gave me prometrium 100 mg daily for 7 days and said that should make it stop but expect to continue spotting while taking it.  My last dose was 12/27 and I am still spotting.  For some reason I didn't have any spotting on 1/2 or 1/3.  Another thing that is weird to me is sometimes it is bright red, sometimes pink, sometimes dark brown, sometimes light brown.  Sometimes it varies and may be all of those in 1 day!  What could be going on?  I do have a call in to the office.  His nurse is going to have him call me.  Any suggestions or anything I'm not seeing?  (I did take a preg test and it was negative the middle of december).

    TIA

The only thing I can think of is that possibly you had a m/c and didn't lose everything. If that is the case, I would think you would get a D&C and that should fix it. I'm certainly not an expert though. Good luck - hope they figure it out soon! :)
