Moving 2 1/2 year old to his own room

It all started when my fiance started working nights last year... My 2 1/2 year old would get up in the middle of the night and crawl into my bed. Then he didn't want to even try to go to sleep in his own room... so he began going to bed with me. This continued even after my finace went back to day shift. My little one just didn't want to sleep in his room. After about 3 months of fitting my fiance, son and I in the bed we deciced it just WAS NOT comfortable!! (especially since I became pregnant!!) My finace and I set our son up with his own little bed next to ours. He has been sleeping GREAT there for the last couple months, but now our 2nd son is due in April and we would love to get our 1st born in his own room. Does anyone have some advice or experience of what has worked for you??

I did the same thing and had my dd sleep next to our bed, then eventually we would move her bed further and further away from ours until she began sleeping in the hallway. She was very proud of herself everytime she stayed in her bed when it was farther away. Eventually we moved the bed into her own room and she stayed in their ever since. May sound weird but it worked for us. Hope that helps.
