morning sickness with one pregnancy and not another?

Hi.  I just found out I am pregnant; I am about 5 weeks along.  I also have a 3.5 year old son.  With my son, I experienced morning sickness before I even took the pregnancy test on day 29.  It got very bad quickly and lasted for the first 5 months.  I was reduced to eating mashed potatoes and macaroni & cheese, so I gained a ton of weight.

It is early in this new pregnancy, but so far, no morning sickness.  I am taking a Vitamin B6 supplement, so maybe that is helping, but without the sickness, I don't feel pregnant!  (Not that I would want to be sick as it was miserable.)

I had a friend who got pregnant 5 times but miscarried 3 times.  She said every time she wasn't sick she lost the baby.  Her words are haunting me.  My husband and I have tried for 7 months to get pregnant this time.

Has anyone else experienced bad morning sickness with one child and no morning sickness with another?

Actually with my son I only got sick once. With this baby I was so badly nauseated I couldn't eat for a little while. I'm almost 13 weeks pregnant. It's totally normal to have morning sickness with one but not the other because every pregnancy is different. Plus morning sickness could come soon but I hope for your sake it doesn't. Congrats on the pregnancy! Don't let your friend's words haunt you too much. Every women is different!!

Thanks for the reassurance.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that every thing will go fine.  I have just the faintest morning sickness; I hope it stays that way!

I was super sick with my daughter until well into the second trimester. I have waves of nausea this time but nothing even compared to my last pregnancy with my DD. I just had my NT test today and my little bean looks good and healthy in there.

You are still pretty early. I didn't get m/s until about 6 weeks with my DD. Hopefully you don't get it but please don't let your friend scare you. Every pregnancy is different. Your body probably knows how to handle it better this time since it has already been through it once before. Stick out tongue

Same here.. this will be my 3rd

    Hi,

I had the most perfect pregnancy with my daughter (she will be 6 in June). No morning sickness, no discomfort- it was like i wasn't even pregnant.  With my son (he just turned 3 in February) i had bad morning sickness for the first 2 and half months.  With this pregnancy (I am 15 weeks, due in the end of August) I have had the WORST morning sickness... even smelling something I dont like causes nausea.  I dont plan on finding out whether it's a boy or a girl, but all I know is they say every pregnancy is different- so dont worry.
