    I'm so nervous!!!!

I have to have a c-section and I am so nervous about the epidural. I've had about 4 spinal taps done in the past and they hurt like hell. Is that what the epidural is goin to feel like?

I've had an epidural during both of my deliveries.  This one will be with an epidural, too.  I couldn't feel a thing when they administered the epidural.  I'm a real wimp when it comes to pain.  I had to have the nurse give me a small shot to numb my hand before giving me the IV.  That's how bad I am.  If it didn't hurt me, it probably won't hurt you.

Try to not be nervous about the epidural or childbirth.  With the epidural, childbirth was actually fun (I was ready to have another baby immediately after having my daughter, keep in mind, I was on drugs~the epidural).

the anesthesiologist will numb your back in the eara that s/he will be working with a local anesthetic injection. it feels like a big bee sting...a pinch and then a burn. that is the worst part but that's the stuff you want because it makes the area numb. after that all you should feel is pressure as they use a larger needle to get the spinal dose in the right area. after that you will slowly start to get numb.

why do you need a c-section this time? breech?

Not Breech, Just a big baby and the doctor wants to make sure everything goes well. She is a firm believer on once a c-section always a c-section. My first one was 9lbs.3 oz this one will be almost 10 lbs.
