    2nd pregnancy!

Hey everyone!  This is my first time to this forum...so I'll give a little info about me.  I'm 27 and have been married to my wonderful husband for 3 years now, but we've been together for 9.  I'm only 4 weeks into my 2nd pregnancy, but I am considered high risk.  The reason is because I have a son (who will be 3 in April!!) who was diagnosed with spina bifida at 17 weeks into my pregnancy.  So I was considered high risk throughout that pregnancy, had him at 36 weeks by classical c-section.  So...I will have to continue to go to my high risk perinatalogist throughout this pregnancy to monitor for spina bifida and also for the thinning of my uterus (due to the type of c-section) in the last couple months of the pregnancy.  I am a RN nursing student about to graduate this June and I'll be working as an oncology nurse.

    Hi Christina,

Congrats on your new addition. What is spina bifida exactly?

Sounds like you have your hands full, I was 27 when I left nursing, I'm 37 now, I also worked for a Oncology Dr. as his nurse, for 3 yrs. private practice, I learned alot, they have come along way since then...If I was ever to go back thats what I would be doing, I felt that I could give the most help to the people who needed it most...I miss it.. I hope you enjoy your baby and your career, We have 5 kids, planning on 6 or 7 tops, hubby wants twins... so going back is not in the future for me. We are self-employed, I help run our central heat and air business. so we are always busy, and then kids, 4 boys and 1 girl, between skateboarding and scooters, and now baby dolls life is exciting for us..

    Keep us posted

I tryed to work with peds, for a short while, I had a hard time, not waiting to take all the kids home with me, so I didn't stay there, I was a nurse for 10yrs. I did my internship with ob/gyn, then later went to oncology.

    Well take care
