Please respond...Question about subchorionic hemmorhage or hematoma

Has anyone know anyone to have subchorionic hemmorhage diagnosed in the first trimester (6-10 weeks)?

I have just come from my first prenatal appt and they did a scan. I have this and it is between my cervix and uterus. It is not around the area where the placenta will form. My doctor said it is not much to worry about and fairly common. She did say that there was a slightly greater risk for miscarrige.  She said in most cases it will reabsorb. I am going back for another scan next Wenesday to see if it has reabsorbed. Also, she said it is in a good place since it cannot interfere with the placenta and baby. Have you known anyone with this condition and what was their outcome?

I remember a girl writing in saying that she had one at about 6 or 7 weeks and it was in-between the uterus and the placenta and everything ended up reabsorbing at her next check up so keep your head up I think the Dr. is right at least it's not near where the placenta will grow. Just take it extra easy over the next couple of weeks and don't be afraid to tell people no if you don't feel up to doing something.

I had that in my first trimester, (6-7weeks)along with some scary heavy-ish bleeding.  The bleeding stopped after 2 days & eventually the 2 , yes, 2 subchorionic bleeds I had re-absorbed.  I am now in my 15th week, and have been running and excercising, feeling great. So dont look at this in the worst light.  It CAN be fine, and you have to keep positive for your lil bean in there. The doctor has to tell you all the risks, including miscarriage.  You will get past this hurdle, then they will tell you, would you like to have an amnio, because there is a risk of, guess what, miscarriage.  It comes at you from all angles......Just be positive and try to enjoy being pregnant an the miracle it is!  I wish you the best, Tre, Long Island, NY

I was diagnosed with it at 14 weeks after some bleeding.  I was also told that my placenta was lower than they would like to see and that I had placenta previa.  They told me not to exercise or have intercourse to see if it cleared up on its own.  I went in today for my 19 week u/s and everything had cleared up on its own.

I know it is nerve wrecking, but there is a very good chance that it will all work itself out.

Good luck and hope it all works out for you and your little one.

I really appreciate ya'll responding to my question.  I honestly do not know what people did before the internet for information and support.  I feel confident that everything will resolve on its own.  Thank you so much for your feedback.  I'm already almost half way to Wenesday for my scan!!  I will keep you updated.

Well hi there!  I didn't even finish reading your question because it brought back suck memories for me just looking at the words subchorionic hem. I was diagnosed with one in the first trimester and bleed off and on (mostly on) for weeks. It worried me so much I must have visited the emergency room every week for the first 10 weeks. Everytime I went I was told that it was a common occurence and that it could potentially cause a miscarriage if the tear got any bigger. I was told to take it easy and it could/would heal up. I'm happy to say the bleeding stopped going into my 3rd month. I'm currently 19 weeks and the baby girl is healthy and active. Please just take it easy and give it time to heal. It is common. Good luck!

Out of my comfort zone is where I grow.

    Eclairesmom,

If you still check in here, I'm curious to know how things went with this.  I have recently been diagnosed with a subchorionic hematoma.  I didn't ask where it was nor did they tell me.  I didn't know what to ask because I've never heard of this before.  Did yours clear up?  How are things going for you now?  Any tricks that you learned along the way that I should try?  Thank you!
