    Severe pain!!!!!

SO I AM NOW 31 WKS PREGNANT. I WORK IN DIALYSIS, SO ULTIMATELY I AM ON MY FEET ALL DAY LONG.  I USED TO WORK 14-16 HOUR DAYS MON,WED, AND FRI.  I HAVE SINCE THE BEGINNING OF MY SEVENTH MONTH, CUT MY HOURS BACK TO 10-12.  BY THE END OF MY WORK DAYS, I COME HOME AND SIT DOWN AND I AM IN SOOOOOO MUCH PAIN!!!!  IT IS HORRIBLE!!!! IT FEELS LIKE I HAVE BEEN KICKED BETWEEN MY LEGS WITH A STEEL TOE BOOT BY AN ADULT SIZE FOOT LIKE THIRTY TIMES.  IF I COULD WALK AROUND HOLDING MYSELF ALL DAY I WOULD, HOWEVER MY PATIENTS WOULD THINK I WAS CRAZY!!!!  SO ANYWAY, EVEN ON TUES, THURS, SAT, AND SUN WHEN I AM OFF I EXPERIENCE THIS PAIN!!!!  I DIDNT DO ANYTHING THIS PAST SUNDAY BUT LAY AROUND SINCE MY DR. SAID HE WANTS ME TO STAY OFF MY FEET AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND I STILL HURT LIKE I PULLED A 14 HOUR SHIFT.  I TRY TO SIT EVERY CHANCE I HAVE AT WORK(WHICH ISN'T OFTEN, DIALYSIS PATIENTS RUN AVERAGE FOUR HOURS ON THE MACHINE AND IN THE DOWN TIME THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO) AND LIMIT MY HOUSEWORK TO LIKE ONE HOUR A DAY ON MY DAYS OFF.  ARE THERE ANY OTHER LADIES FEELING THIS?  ANY SUGGESTIONS?  I AM SO MISERABLE.  I GO ON LEAVE MAY 28TH, SO IVE GOT ATLEAST FOUR MORE WEEKS OF WORKING.  WHAT ABOUT LIKE WARM BATHS OR SOMETHING?  ANYTHING??   OR AM I JUST BEING A WHINER? Crying  PLEASE HELP.  Tongue Tied

    THANKS, JEN

I have the same thing!!! I have found a couple of things that help... The first is take a warm bath and some tylenol, I only take tylenol when its bad, but maybe you should take it just on the days that you work so that you can get the full effect of the tylenol, The second is doing stretches and pelvic tilts, if you stand on your hands and knees and rock your pelvis up and down really slowly and also side to side, the third is wearing more comfortable shoes try insoles or something like that. I really hope this helps!! At least you have a count down til you can just relax before the baby comes!! And you are not just being a whiner!! LOL. Let me know if you need any more ideas, I'm sure I can come up with some more! Big Smile Good luck and tell us if it gets any better!

    Re: Severe pain!!!!!

I too have this pain. This is my third pregnancy and it hurts worse every time. My doctor said that it would do this. She lets me use a heat pad (not on high) and wants me to lay down for 10 minutes every hour. NOT sit down. But to get all weight off my pelvis. The best relief that I have found is the swimming pool. The thought of getting in my bathing suit was awful but NOTHING provides that sweet relief. It is instant. If you try it, I promise you wont want to get back out.

I just wanted to say I too have pain,it hurts in my "buttbone" lol. I don't know what else to call it, I don't know if it's my back or my pelvis. Pregnancy can be painful, it's just part of the process but I wanted you to know that you are so not being a whiner! It hurts. Whine all you want!

    Re: Severe pain!!!!!

WEll I experienced pain with both my boys from 30 weeks on and it was basically because they had moved down in the birth canal and everytime they would turn thier heads I could feel it and the pressure was horrible I found that taking my hands and putting one on each side of my belly and just kinda trying to reposition them helped some also getting a big ball and laying on my back across it and rolling backwards sometimes eased the pain also swimming like the other lady said can be helpful because you are working your pelvis which is reposistioning the baby soemwhat. Hope this helps.Big Smile

pain in all kinds of places

Anytime after 28 weeks your body just begins what I call the 'Shutdown" procedures. It knows that the end is near so why hold out on the pain? You could feel great one minute and be limping the next because of some weird twinge of pain in your knee??? Or go to crawl out of bed to hit the bathroom and you feel like someone beat up your lower back while you slept. Sleeping with a pillow between your knees and up under your belly can make a big difference and so does that old school style hot water bottle. No electricity so it's less harmful and you can place it virtually anywhere it hurts. Take the time to put your fet up, cut you daily workload by 30% and remember that if you expend all you energy before mid-day, you're asking for a body meltdown by 3:00pm. Keep the idea open in your mind that THIS time you have left is the only time you'll ever have left to take care of you alone. Rest as often as possible and listen to your body's aches. Re: pain in all kinds of places

I would suggest going to a chiropractor. The one I go to helps tremendously!!! You have to figure the baby is putting everything out of whack. Chiropractic care pushes things back where they are supposed to be. I've been going monthly since my 4th month and I notice a world of difference. This past weekend I would get to a point where I couldn't even stand upright. I went to the chiro on Tuesday... and while everythign isn't perfect... it's a heck of a lot better than it was.

The feeling you're having is your pubic bone beginning to rupture; it happens sometimes, especially to moms who are on their feet alot. I think the technical term is ruptured symphysis. I have had it with my third, fourth and fifth babies. Squats can help with preventing it from becoming a total rupture. The good news is, a ruptured pubic bone actually creates more room for baby to pass through the pelvis, so even as painful as it is, it decreases your chances of c-section and other interventions. :)   Lie down as often as possible. Women who tend to have ruptured pubic bones also tend to have vulvar varicosities, which are not cool at all.
