I am feeling a little less emotional. I get a little nauses at night but havent actually gotten sick as of yet.  There have been times when i would have preferred to just get sick and feel better.  I also had sort of my 1st ob appt.  I went in for a follow up pap (every 6mos due to a bad pap result) and when she heard i was pregnant she did the pap, and felt and said yup you feel pregnant and you feel about 6-7 wks... hehe.  She is only a nurse practictioner and asked if I mind if they did an u/s so she could see it in the right spot vs a tubal... umm, u/s yes sure why not.  anyway long story short my EDD according to the stupid wheel is Jan. 22, but according to baby size Jan. 27 and because it is within 5days they stated with Jan. 22.. Makes no difference to me when he/she is ready (for me typically 37-38wks) baby will come..

Cant wait to start hearing more about all of your journeys as well!!

I wasnt planning on haveing the ob appt because we just bought a house and moved an hr away from the base hospital so we are looking for drs in this area not an hr away.  Also what kind of delivery does every one want?  I want natural this time.  out of 4 pregnancies only 1/2 the epi's worked and with my last dd it didnt work but i made it almost all the way through without getting it anyway so i think i can do it.. and they messed up my back with my last one and i still had what i feel was natural labor.... for new moms read up on it, make an educated decision.  i am not against meds but for me they tend to back fire and i pay for it more after birth!

Feeling kinda crappy, physically! Hoping I'm one of the lucky ones whose morning sickness goes away early.

Switched from a 4-doctor family practice to an OB/GYN office with 2 midwives and several doctors. My husband and I decided to have a more natural birth after seeing the documentary, "The Business of Being Born," so my primary care will be under the 2 midwives, with a couple doctor visits just to have "shaken hands with them just in case." I'll still deliver at a hospital, but everything will be made available to me to have a water birth, or whatever I want. Has anyone else gone a more natural route with any of your kids?

Just had my first ultrasound….saw the heartbeat and the baby moving around. It was so amazing. MS just kicked in this week with sever vomiting and nausea. Some days are great and I can eat what I want and other days I can’t keep water down. I have never been so tired in my life, but I love taking my afternoon naps. Ultra sound says I am due January 6th, but according to LMP January 10th. She said we would stay with the 10th. I feel like its real now after seeing the baby. My husband was just thankful there was only one…twins are in both of our families!

    Re: How are you doing?

I had a natural birth with my daughter. But we chose a birth center, to help make sure that goal would come to pass.  The business of being born is a good movie. There are a few other good ones out there too " Pregnant in America" is a good one too.  I recommend highly, espcially is your chosing a hospital birth, to take a strong natural childbirth class, Bradley or Lamaze. To help prepare you, educate you, and give you and your husband the confidence you need! I also highly recommend a doula! Money well spent, and this will greatly increase the likelyhood of success at your desired natural birth!

    Re: How are you doing?

We are planning on taking some kind of childbirth preparedness class but I haven't signed up for anything yet.

First ultrsound was a couple weeks ago and it was really cool. 12 weeks along and it was very clear and very wiggly babylike. I wish I had videotaped it because it was so wiggly the stills didn't come out as clearly as it was in live action.

Almost 14 weeks and still not "better." Everyone has asking if the morning sickness has been letting up but it hasn't; I really hope it does soon and I'm not stuck with it for the next 6 months. The smells are horriblle. I can't spend any amount of time in the kitchen and I can't be near the fridge either at home or the grocery store.

     How is everyone else doing?
