    Prenatal Vitamins

    Hello,

I am new here. My husband and I are TTC. I was wondering about prenatal vitamins. I take a Woman's Daily Multivitamin, and I don't really see the differnce in what's in mine and what's in most prenatals. Can anyone explain this to me? I have been taking 600 mic. of Folic acid daily for the last several years in addition to my multivitamin. Am I missing something?

    Thanks!!

I've heard different things from different people on this so I think it might just be a personal choice for you.  The most important ingredient in pre-natal vitamins is folic acid and your daily+additional supplement certainly covers this.

I'd ask your doc what he recommends based on your health history and make a decision from there.

    Good luck!

    Re: Prenatal Vitamins

Thanks for the super quick reply. We are living in Germany right now, and I went to the pharmacy to compare the differences in prenatals and Women's One A Days. The prenatals here actually have a lot less vitamins and minerals. It was strange. It was basically a folic acid pill. I think Germans are really into getting their vitamins the natural way...eating!! I think that's good too. So I think I will stick with my MVI. I already eat really healthily, so I am not so worried about it. I think I'll also start taking an Omega 3 fatty acid supplement as well.

     Thanks!

Definitely add folic acid and Omega 3's and you should be okay!!
