    3cm at 36 weeks

Well I just went to my doctor today and I am dialated to 3cm. He doesn't think I'll even make it another week since this is my fourth. He also scheduled me for an induction on Aug 8th just in case I make it that far because I have really big babies. My oldest was 10lbs 14 oz and this one is already about 7lbs. It just makes me nervouse. I still have two weeks left scheduled to work and don't know what to do. If I can't go in to work there isn't really anyone that can just jump in there and do it. I am thinking of just going on leave now. I just need some advice on what I should do. I mean if I am scheduled next week the other girl who would take my spot will already be scheduled different hours and it would all have to be changed around if I was in labor or something and didn't show up. Sorry just feeling a little overwhelmed and stressed. I still have a lot to do around home too.

It's great to see people with so much dedication to their work.  HOWEVER, now is the time for you to be selfish.  If you became suddenly ill your employer would figure it out.  They always do.  You need to take the time you need to keep yourself and your baby healthy.  Bottom line, those things come first.  Feeling overwhelmed and stressed at this stage in the game is not doing you or your baby any good.  One quick way to reduce a significant amount of stress and that "overwhelmed" feeling is to put that job on hold for now.  I'm sure you work with great people who come together in a pinch.  Let 'em see what they're made of.  Now, go put your feet up.  :o)  Take care!  I'm very excited for you that the time is nearing when you will be able to hold your baby.

I definately think that right now is NOT the time to be worrying about who is going to take your place at work.  If you go into labor, you go into labor.  There is nobody to stop that.  And if you have lots to do at home I'd be getting with the program girl!  LOL!

My first baby I dialated to a 4 at 36 weeks and stayed that way for about 7 days, and then I had my baby boy.  He was 8lb 2oz.  A big ol' guy.  My second, I did the same thing, I was dialted to a 4 for about 4 days, then I had my baby girl... also a big one 8lb and 6 oz.  Three weeks early.  So my last I expected nothing less... and what do I know, I did the samet hing, I can't remember how long I was dialated to a 4, but I remember knowing it would happen right away once I knew.  So give yourself about a week... but no more, and get ready for that baby, you will be holding it in your arms soon enough and all those worries will be just a memory.

Hi again. Just a little about why the stress over work. I am the only person who knows how to do my job. I have been trying to get my boss to let me train someone else in for months and he always puts it off. Now I ended up training someone in in one day which isn't very helpful. I know she will be able to handle it and I left lots of notes but I still know I will be getting phone calls from her too. I just don't want to be answering all kinds of questions and not being paid for it since I am on leave. I decided I need to be home and finishing up things around here. I have everything set and now I can hopefully relax for a day or two anyway. I go back to the DR Monday so we will see how it goes.
