    Just a couple questions

First question.... I have heard that you are not supposed to sleep on your back after a certain point, but then I have heard that as long as you are not getting light headed or feel like you are going to pass out, it is ok? Does anyone have any real answers. Because I try laying on my left side and am always rolling over to by back because I am more comfortable.

Second question... If I lean over at all, or if I sit indian style (I do alot) my feet and legs go to sleep so fast. Is this normal?

    Thanks

I originally thought sleeping on the left side was recommended because of something for the baby, but after asking about it more I was told it is for us.  There is a major artery or something that if too much pressure is put on it can cause the dizziness/faintness.  Also, I am a stomach sleeper which concerned me, but my doc said as long as I was comfortable the baby was fine.

Not sure about your legs falling asleep fast, but makes sense because of the differences your body is going through with the pregnancy.

There is a major artery that gets compressed by the weight of the uterus if you lay on your back which can result not only in poor blood circulation in you, but can cut off oxygen to the baby.If you find that you are rolling over on your back, try placing a pillow behind you to prevent you from laying flat if you do roll over.  I'm not sure about the legs and feet falling asleep, but it can't hurt to ask the doctor about it.

I also thought sleeping on your left side would improve circulation for you and the baby.  That's what I did from about 6 months on with my first two. Somehow it came up when talking to my mom who had triplets (then twins--me and my sister). She said she could only get comfortable on her back and that was with three babies!  They were 8, 7, and 6 pounds at birth but she said she's never heard of it being necessary to sleep a certain way.  Depends on the person and what your doctor says I guess.

I sit in a computer chair for several hours a day and I have to make myself get up and take breaks, stretch etc. to make sure I get good circulation in my legs.  Also I can tell a difference when I take short walks around the neighborhood. The exercise and fresh air really make me feel better.
