Hi, has anyone had shortening of the cervix due to multiple leeps? I am 19wks and at 2.1cm last visit. I am currently taking progeterone shots once a weeks and I am very nervous about preterm labor. Has anyone had this problem too?

Vanessa, I didn't have the leep procedure done but had the cone biopsy done. So there's a chance mine could open up prematurely. I was told if it got to the point where it needed to be stitched shut they would do that.  

Well, I have had a cone biopsy too years ago. When I went to have my last leep, the Dr told my I would not be able to carry a baby unless I had a cerclage placed and I would have to be on bedrest. So when I found out I was pregnant I had a cerclage placed at 13 weeks. and now at 19 wks I am on voulentary bedrest. My peri Dr. is not giving very much hope with this pregnancy. Having the cerclage and taking progesterone shots is all they can do, according to her. I guess what I am wondering is if anyone has had a similar experience and is there anything else the Dr.'s can do if I do go into labor. With all this technology I find it hard to believe that this could be it.
