Your Pregnancy: Week 13 for Dads

By: ePregnancy

dad13So, it’s time to tell everyone about the new addition. It’s exciting, but spreading the news also makes Baby seem very, very real. So real you feel like retreating a bit. Thankfully, Mom is feeling much better, making this the perfect time for a weekend getaway together. Even if it’s just an overnight, the chance to have some solitude and time to reconnect before the frenzy of planning is a wonderful thing. Use the opportunity to talk about what the two of you envision -- or use it as a pure escape -- there are no rules right now, and the real world will still be waiting for you when you get home.

In the midst of all the celebration, you might notice that while Mom is feeling better, her moods are still swinging to the beat of the band. She might go from angry to loving to weepy all in the space of an hour! Trying to interpret what's going on will only leave you more bewildered than before. Understand that she's operating under the influence of not only hormomes, but fear and anxiety, plus excitement and joy. She's a big ball of emotion right now, so just ride it out the best you can. And, although she may be regaining some of the long-lost sex drive, tread lightly. She may now hate the things she used to love -- long makeout sessions, certain touches, etc. Get her to open up to you about what she wants right now, and the road back to a sex life will be a little less bumpy.
