Your Pregnancy: Week 40 for Dad
By: ePregnancy
It's the 40th week and we'll wager you are just as anxious as Mom is for Baby's arrival. This is the time for last minute preparations:
Be within reach -- Make sure Mom has a cell phone (and your number) handy so that she can get in touch with you when labor starts.
Finish the nursery -- Do you have newborn diapers? Burp cloths? If the crib isn't already assembled, this is definitely the time to do it.
Get the car ready -- Make sure you've got gas in the car! No laboring mom is going to want to stop at the service station on the way to the hospital. Install the carseat, too. You won't be able to take your little one home from the hospital without it.
Get some rest -- You'll need to be well rested just as much as Mom. Pop in some soothing music and make sure both of you are getting the sleep you need.
Daddy Dispatches
Scott, father of two:
Many times, I felt that my most important contribution was reminding my wife that she was pregnant with twins. I would tell her this hoping she would go to bed and get the rest she needed. I would tell her this so she would remember why her shoes would no longer fit. I would tell her this so she would stop feeling guilty about all the things she wasn't doing around the house and hopefully go to bed.
